Exploring the art of storytelling.
“Halloween II” was a great episode of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
The writers were very clever in developing the storylines for this episode. Both Peralta and Captain Holt’s pranks were very detailed and elaborate. They were perfectly done. And just like Peralta, I was led into Holt’s trap. I was greatly impressed with the creative teams’ approach to this episode.
I am also glad Peralta didn’t win the annual Halloween bet. It was funny to see Holt become totally engrossed in his prank. He may be a reserved man, but that just means that he take his competitions and pranks that much more seriously. My favorite line from this episode was when Holt said, “dun dun DUN,” after revealing the development of his year-long plan.
Gina was also hilarious in “Halloween II.” She was extra self-absorbed this episode, completely oblivious to everyone else. What makes Gina funny is that even though she thinks she’s this perfect “angel,” she’s far from perfect. She’s confident, yet likable.
