Exploring the art of storytelling.
The best scene in “Mother’s Day Reservations” was the Mother’s Day tea scene. Frankie was already sensitive from a week of questioning her parenting. Right before they sat down at the table, Frankie accidentally offended her mother. At the table, she then realized that she forgot to get her mother a gift. One after another, the women started crying. Sue joined in because she felt responsible for making her mom upset. As the woman made a scene, the boys sat there uncomfortable. Mike ended up leaving the table. Axl literally reached out for Mike as he walked away. The two boys ended up joining their father in the bathroom to hide away from the estrogen. The whole scene was hilarious and relatable.
Throughout “Mother’s Day Reservations,” Mike attempted to book reservations at the tea place. He kept trying to call in, but they told him that he would have to do it all online. I could totally relate to this. I’ve experienced this both as an employee and a consumer.
