The Coincidental Critic

Exploring the art of storytelling.

It’s a Boy!

I would just like to state for the record that Lori’s not-guilty verdict is pretty much impossible; nonetheless, I am going to ignore common sense and accept the results of the trial.

In “Native Son,” we found out where Ofe has disappeared off to: rehab.  I wonder if the actor will return in the future.

I was surprised that the characters weren’t more shocked by Ben’s arrival.  David has another son, and Carter, Taylor, and Grant have another brother.  The characters didn’t really question where Ben had come from or press for proof of his identity.  In fact, Taylor was ready to just ignore his existence.  And Elizabeth didn’t seem at all phased to find out that David had a son with Lori.  I’m glad that at least Carter and David showed interest in getting to know Ben, but I would have expected a more emotional response to this news.

Overall, “Native Son” was a great episode.  I was intrigued the whole time and am really looking forward to watching how Ben’s influence affects the family in the future.  I’m curious as to how everything will unfold, and I can’t wait to find out.
